For these games on my system, the setup consists of "Installing: Microsoft DirectX for Windows (step 1 of 1)" This happens everytime I launch a game, even if it happens during the same instance of Steam. I am using version 1.1.36 of the wine-devel package in macports on OS X. Setting the value back to "Windows 2008" or "Windows 7" did NOT reproduce the bug.
