I removed these programs from the setup to test the implementation of these components in WINE. The game crashes when attempting to load. I get outputs from the shell and the game console, they are attached below. This seems to be the d3dx9 problem, I see nothing about msvc in there. Does 'winetricks d3dx9_36' fix it? (or d3dx9)? If so, d3dx9 bug.
