Workaround: winetricks gdiplus. Now the virtual keyboard can be seen. GyB, since we are able to test bug 16873 I think this bug is fixed, right?
I agree as the virtual keyboard is displayed fine in Wine 1.6-rc1. There might be minor differences in how the virtual keyboard is displayed when using the built-in vs. native gdiplus, but that should go into a separate bug report.
