[Bug 60033] New: wine can't run lin-vst-server32.exe.so
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60033 Bug ID: 60033 Summary: wine can't run lin-vst-server32.exe.so Product: Wine Version: 11.10 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: fakem2505@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Distribution: --- i'm trying to do some music stuff on liunx, and i need some windows vst's to work. the 64bit vst's load fine, but wine gives a "wine: failed to start L"Z:\\usr\\bin\\lin-vst-server32.exe.so": c000007b Application could not be started, or no application associated with the specified file" error whenever it attempts to start the 32 bit server for linvst. i'm probably doing something wrong, but i've tried everything. i think it's loading the lin-vst-server32.exe file in 64bit, and then erroring when it loads the other. is there any way to get this to load wright? .exe.so is not a Windows binary. Where did you get it from?
it's a .exe launched by lin-vst-server32.exe as part of a wine server that allows music dows on linux to read .dll vst's by tricking it to thinking that it's a .so the 64bit half of linvst (lin-vst-server.exe and lin-vst-server.exe.so) launch correctly and start up the wine server when lin-vst-server.exe is launched by the fake .so file the dow opens. lin-vst-server32.exe only correctly launches when launched in the terminal with { wine32 /usr/bin/lin-vst-server32.exe } if i use the normal { wine /usr/bin/lin-vst-server32.exe } the server fails to start. linVst is on github, it is the current recommended way to load windows vst files on linux. however it seems to be last updated for wine 10.x and i can't find a way to downgrade. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
