The game uses a library "nuSound2_win.dll" to handle the affected sound effects (which seems to be causing some problems even on windows eg. http://steamcommunity.com/app/234670/discussions/0/684839199859053166/ ), apart from that I couldn't find any relevant information about it as this game seems to be the only one using it.
