[Bug 59696] New: Retevis Ailunce Radio Programming Software for HA1G stops during install
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59696 Bug ID: 59696 Summary: Retevis Ailunce Radio Programming Software for HA1G stops during install Product: Wine Version: 11.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: jimtinlin@gmail.com Distribution: --- An attempt to install HA1G (GRMS Radio) Computer Programming Software, the install stopped and failed to complete installation. The software is located at: https://www.retevis.com/downloads/software?_gl=1*a9rmrb*_up*MQ..*_gs*MQ..&gc... RetevisCps_V1.1.9_X86.exe When launched, the software will dowload 'MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe', which I was able to install to completion. Then when the retevis sofware is launched again, it runs and provides a significant amount of debug information on the console (see first attachment) then just stops. Nothing found on the Retevis site to assist with this install, except a 2 year old note that said the install could stall if 'mfc140.dll' is not found, so I used winetricks to install that and there didn't seem to be a change in response (see 2nd attachment of console debug output). Any assistance would be appreciated. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Comment on attachment 80815 [details] 2nd attempt at Programming Software Install after mfc140u.dll install
native webview2 doesn't work well on Wine (see eg. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58921)
you can try the workaround of setting windows version in winecfg at windows7 (but other things could break)
I was able to add the reg entry per bug report 58921: wine reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults\msedgewebview2.exe" /v Version /t REG_SZ /d win8 And I was able to get the programming software to run, thanks for the tip and can't tell if it broke anything else because I don't use webview for other applications. Thanks so much, I appreciate the insight and assistance!!! -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
