This makes the game unplayable because you can't see where you are all the time. I've attached a few photos taken with a digital camera. Do you have compiz enabled? Can you check with older Wine version (wine-0.9.58)?
Compiz is not enabled (composite and aiglx extensions are loaded by Xorg though). I've tested now with 0.9.58 (patched for bug 13087) and it looks mostly (if not totally) identical to 1.0-rc1. Seems like it's the hills and mountain tops that can't get rendered properly. As far as I can see it renders properly now.
