http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58913 --- Comment #4 from Paul Gofman <pgofman@codeweavers.com> --- Likely the added function triggered the use of more (unimplemented) d2d stuff. Could you please describe how exactly I can get (free demo is best, or minimal possible purchase) matching version of Photoshop CC, install it with Wine and reproduce the problem? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. I used Adobe Photoshop 2024 (25.9 to be specific, it used to be on Creative Cloud's older versions feature before they removed the 2024 versions) to replicate the issue, since the issue didn't appear in 10.12, but did when 10.13 came out. Also, since the free trial generally uses the same thing, the issue should be present on there too (I used DXVK along with it) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Yes, it will work once you revert the commit, but you need DXVK (and vkd3d-proton) to truly fix the UI for Photoshop. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58913 --- Comment #15 from Paul Gofman <pgofman@codeweavers.com> --- If the issue still persists, can someone please give me exact instructions how can I get and start the correct version of Photoshop version which reproduces the bug? Hi Paul, Since Wine staging 11.5, a complete Photoshop crash occurs. However, I doubt both issues are related. I'm adding a terminal output for both Wine 11.4 (broken interface) and Wine 11.5 (crash). On top of that, I'm emailing you a zip file containing the instructions of a working Photoshop version. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58913 --- Comment #19 from artik <jeff.artik@gmail.com> --- To reproduce the bug, download the Adobe-Photoshop-2021.iso trial version: https://mega.nz/file/GdxTDIyZ#WVg-zQxNuGpMAkTUJWyE9nbH0D3VKj-PbTv1b3P1TsI 1. Under Windows, mount the .iso, and install Photoshop using the setup.exe (Maybe the installer can work under linux using Wine 11.5, but in my case it breaks). 2. Once installed under Windows, copy in your wine prefix: ProgramData/Adobe Program Files/Adobe Creative Cloud Experience Program Files/Adobe Photoshop 2021 Program Files (x86)/Common Files 3. In the .iso, copy the windows DLL needed by Photoshop from de dlls folder, in the same folder as Photoshop.exe. 4. Install winetricks components: winetricks fontsmooth=rgb atmlib corefonts allfonts gdiplus dxvk vkd3d 5. Start with wine 11.4: /drive_c/Program Files/Adobe Photoshop 2021/Photoshop.exe 6. The login windows will appear to create an Adobe account, but you don't need it as the main Photoshop windows is already broken in the background. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58913 Goslinger_2000 <pro100xaker2017@yandex.ru> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |pro100xaker2017@yandex.ru --- Comment #21 from Goslinger_2000 <pro100xaker2017@yandex.ru> --- Still relevant on Photoshop **2024** (x64) under a custom wine-dcomp-style build + DXVK, Linux Mint **Cinnamon**, NVIDIA (2026 field testing). Confirms the Managed=Y vs menu tradeoff discussed in comments 18–20: * With `HKCU\Software\Wine\X11 Driver` **Managed=Y** (and even Decorated=N), Cinnamon draws WM chrome/frame again; Adobe File/Edit menu path is unreliable / regresses toward the classic broken chrome. * With **Managed=N** + **Decorated=N** (override-redirect), the Adobe menu bar (Файл / Редактирование / …) draws and is usable again. * Cost of Managed=N here: weak/unstable panel icon, window “runs away” from the taskbar, and virtual-desktop integration is poor because the WM does not own the window. Additional anti-patterns we hit while debugging (may help others on this bug): * Do **not** XUnmap/XMap the main Photoshop window to fake workspace pinning — that destroyed DComp/DXVK surfaces → persistent black voids (separate from the missing-menu issue). * Separately, `d2d1` exporting `D2D1ComputeMaximumScaleFactor` correlated with black-void UI (Wine bug 58913 territory); not the same as the Managed menu regression, but easy to confuse when the shell looks “broken.” Informal write-up (drafted largely by an AI coding agent; human-validated via screenshots — please treat as **unverified until reproduced**): https://gist.github.com/Goslinger-2000/bbc213da8c93c1204a00b035553893cd Happy to clarify Cinnamon-specific bits or trim this if maintainers want a shorter data point. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
