The result is unspecified. With my patch, wine asks Fontconfig for the best "sans-serif" font then. Regarding your log file, your Fontconfig said "Dejavu Sans" was the best at that time. I misunderstood the former behavior, and made a proposed patch for this issue. If you're interested, could you try attachment 63003 [details] in Bug 46285?
