[Bug 60413] New: Loud buzzing only audio in many games when using 8-channel audio output; log fills up massively with same fixme line
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60413 Bug ID: 60413 Summary: Loud buzzing only audio in many games when using 8-channel audio output; log fills up massively with same fixme line Product: Wine Version: 11.7 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: dsound Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: winehq.org@rylab.dev Target Milestone: --- Distribution: --- Created attachment 82218 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=82218 launch log of running an affected game for a couple minutes 017c:fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixerVol There is no support for 8 channels On a Macbook Pro with Apple T2 Audio driver (only 8 channel output is supported) many games (but not all) fill up the logs with the above fixme line (like, 1MB per minute worth of it) while only outputting a loud sawtooth buzzing noise. It happens on several versions of WINE that I've tried, between 10.x and latest. Example games to repro this include Treasure Adventure Game, and Worms Armageddon. Hoping there's a plan to support 2 channel audio with this type of output device in dsound, or if there is some workaround that would be appreciated too. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60413 --- Comment #3 from Rylab <winehq.org@rylab.dev> --- I just tried the same game via Steam instead of GOG, and get a similar error spamming the logs here, however the sound seems to work in this version, instead of the crazy sinewave buzzing noise: 0138:fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixerVol There is no support for 8 channels -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
