After Effects fails to start and presents an error dialog which reads ( at least what I can read froma screenshot) : After Effects error: Crash in progress. winetricks msxml3 applied to work around bug #40548 .
After Effects fails to start and presents an error dialog which reads ( at least what I can read froma screenshot) :
After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was <36> <Dynamic Link> <5> C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclink\CS6\dynamiclinkmanager.exe
The error dialog is hidden behind the splash screen, so it might seem that the application just hung, but by displaying all windows ( 'Windows' key in Gnome ) I saw this error message.

Also, try running this in a 32-bit prefix since you have this installed C:\Program Files (x86)\ which usually denotes a 32-bit program.
While AfterEffects CS6 appears to have 32-bit components, a 64-bit OS is required to run it. You can rename dynamiclinkmanager.exe but terminal output stays pretty much the same and you can't start the program, anyway. FYI: This program includes GPUSniffer.exe which is used, for example, in Adobe Premiere Pro, too (CS4 and newer). In Premiere, GPUSniffer.exe just crashes if you try to execute it individually. I suspect that this may be *somehow* similar error which prevents Premiere Pro from starting, too. I'm not sure, though. Premiere Pro gets stuck on loading splash screen like After Effects while loading GPU stuff.
