Using wine_cvs_2005-08-30, no native files and win-emulation set to 'win98'.
The installer for Microsoft Office 97 gives the following trouble:

A window pops up saying:
  Error while configuring ODBC drivers!
  SQLInstallDriver failed for ODBC driver Microsoft dBase Driver (*.dbf).

The following feedback was received on the commandline:
