The installation log (C:\windows\IE9_main.log) shows: 00:01.994: ERROR: Checking version for C:\windows\System32\Photometadatahandler.dll: Failed. (Couldn't get File Version Info size.) 00:02.021: ERROR: Checking version for C:\windows\System32\XpsPrint.dll: Failed. (Couldn't get File Version Info size.) 00:02.042: ERROR: System version and prerequisite validation checks failed.
