[Bug 59535] New: oleaut32: page fault on read in OLE typelib path (msdatsrc.tlb) when running VARA HF
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59535 Bug ID: 59535 Summary: oleaut32: page fault on read in OLE typelib path (msdatsrc.tlb) when running VARA HF Product: Wine Version: 11.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: richard7298@gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 80574 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=80574 these are my vara logs running in the new version 11.0 wow64 bit environment. Install Vara hf. Vara starts and runs for 3 to 15 minutes then fails. Program closes. Wine continues to be functional - I can return as soon as I configure another combination. I have lots of logs in version 9, version 9 32 bit and version 11 64 bit. I am running Ubuntu 24.4. I will attach my log file. The last couple are V11 64 bit - the version is in the run header. Earlier ones are version 9 64 and then version 9 32 bit. I am new to wine and somewhere new to linux. I have searched for the msdatsrc problem. I found a case from 2020 but I did not see a solution and that is much earlier code. I installed vbrun6 and wine-mono. It has been a long day. Please ask questions and I will dig for answers and try stuff. I need this to work. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. If so, can you please provide some instructions on how to reproduce the issue? As far as I can tell, the "msdatsrc.tlb" lines in the debug output aren't related to the crash, as they always seem to appear on application exit. The lines relating to an exception seem to be more relevant: 0024:err:seh:dispatch_user_callback ignoring exception c000008f 0024:err:seh:dispatch_user_callback ignoring exception c000008f 0024:err:seh:dispatch_user_callback ignoring exception c000008f wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 00000280 at address 7AE36946 (thread 011c), starting debugger... -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59535 --- Comment #2 from Richard <richard7298@gmail.com> --- That is the correct application. After installation, you need to configure a call sign (ABCDEF should work) and check the KISS box. You also need sound card input and output - this can complicated, try to use something obvious like speakers for output and microphone for input. I am using a ham radio and a complex arrangement of objects created with qpwgraph. In my case when I run the vara hf app, it fails within 15 minutes, usually less. I have a windows 10 machine I copied the msdatsrc.tbl file into wine c:\windows\system32. I tried to register it but "winetricks regsvr32 msdatsrc.tbl" failed. I think I am close, if you can give me a clue to register the file that should get me past the immediate and on to the next one :) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
