Looks like it's trying to access a null pointer. I've got X server 1.5.3, Intel 4500 GPU, has direct rendering working. This is the first Wine app I'm testing on the machine. Looks like. The trick is to find out where the null pointer comes from. Console output had nothing strange in it. When you say that it's a driver problem, do you mean the graphics driver? I can try it with the newest xf86-video-intel 2.6.1.
