The game starts up, changes the resolution and then crashes. Slowing down the execution (for example by using strace or WINEDEBUG=all) reveals, that a small window with three buttons on the bottom, one of which being "Start Game", appears for a very brief moment before it closes again and the game switches to fullscreen mode. One is sdl crashing again, that's already covered by another bug. Work-around: get the newest sdl.dll from http://www.libsdl.org/download-1.2.php and replace SDL.dll in the Breakquestdirectory with that one See also http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10086#c4 2. After that it starts for 2 seconds and then exits. Work-around: use native msvcrt. A +relay revealed tons of calls to msvcrt, so i dunno really which one is to blame. It seems BreakQuest does some sort of hooking such that opening files with a particular path syntax causes a mapping to game data files in some manner.
