[Bug 59620] New: font scaling issues: overlapping lines on LTspiceXVII.exe viewing "Netlists" or text files
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59620 Bug ID: 59620 Summary: font scaling issues: overlapping lines on LTspiceXVII.exe viewing "Netlists" or text files Product: Wine Version: 11.6 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: eick.roberto@gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 80684 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=80684 screen-print_overlap_text_LTspiceXVII_x64 LTspiceXVII (x64) is a SPICE simulator which has been out there for a while. This problem happens on versions from 17 up to most recent (ver. 26). Steps to reproduce (method 1): 1. After installing, open the software and load a text file from the menu/icons, ideally one containing a "NETLIST" or a ".MODEL" or ".SUBCKT" which can be found on www. 2. Once opened see it, then click menu "View", and "Set font" to experiment. Comments: (1) The software seems to default to "Courier New", Normal, size 10; which only renders ok in very large sizes, but always with some vertical lines overlapping, the smaller the worst. (2) Many/most other fonts render fine at default size 10, but also most of them will also display the bad overlappint once "small enough" which varies with font, since each has it's own scaling parameters. (3) "Arial" looks great at Normal, size 10; if change to 9 --> all messed up. Hope someone can help identify if wine or software is to blame, filtering out this issue and improving where/when possible. I was having no problems like that last year running wine 9.x and probably LTspiceXVI.exe or LTspice.exe (ver. 25). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59620 --- Comment #1 from Roberto Eick <eick.roberto@gmail.com> --- Minor correction: It was working as expected (no overlapping lines) on wine 10.x las year. The LTspice I was using probably version 25.x or 24.x. But this issue might be happening on any LTspice available on official location (XVII.x, 24.x, 25.x, 26.x). How to skip the issue: on menu "View", select a different "font" and/or "font size" (10 or larger). Why the report: users like me may want to use special functionality, like "symbol generation" based on the text file containing a .SUBCKT. In this case, the software allows the user to right-click that statement and to select some options, so the text visualization has those extra features hidden from plain sight. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
