[Bug 59508] New: SWAT 4: When pressing Alt + Tab, the game loses sound
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59508 Bug ID: 59508 Summary: SWAT 4: When pressing Alt + Tab, the game loses sound Product: Wine Version: 11.4 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: daniel.penalized@proton.me Distribution: --- When I press Alt + Tab (I believe it's not exactly Alt + Tab, but rather the Windows/Super/Meta key. My Alt + Tab is configured as Windows + Tab), the game SWAT 4 goes completely silent, the background video of the start menu stops and the cursor duplicates (one system cursor and another from the game itself). I don't think it's related to x11 or wayland, as it happens in both. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59508 --- Comment #1 from daniel <daniel.penalized@proton.me> --- My daily driver is labwc, but I was able to reproduce this issue on almost all DEs for x11 and wayland: KDE Plasma, GNOME, COSMIC, hyrpland, sway, i3, niri, and openbox. And reiterating what is said in the description, the issue is not really Alt + Tab, but rather the Windows key, just click on it and the issue is reproduced. And there is nothing in the default debug channels, so please let me know if you need any further information. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59508 --- Comment #2 from daniel <daniel.penalized@proton.me> --- The game's README file says: Alt-Tab -Using Alt-Tab to minimize the game and/or switch to another application is not supported by SWAT 4. Although it may occasionally work fine, there are many known problems that can occur. Use it at your own risk. In addition, I asked a friend to try to reproduce this issue on MS Windows: when clicking the Windows/Super/Meta key, the game minimizes (which doesn't say much, since this is standard behavior in MS Windows) and mutes itself. In fact, any action that takes focus away from the game window causes the game to be muted. Also, the game appears to be using exclusive fullscreen mode. Even so, I still consider this a Wine issue, because on MS Windows, the cursor doesn’t duplicate, and when focus returns to the game window, the game unmutes. Neither of these is true in Wine. Furthermore, Alt + Tab (and other actions that take focus away from the game window) work on Linux. I mean, Wine is already behaving differently from MS Windows by not pausing the game and muting it (which I personally consider a good thing), so why not apply that same different behavior to the Windows/Super/Meta key? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
