[Bug 59983] New: Monopoly Tycoon doesn't get past the main menu
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59983 Bug ID: 59983 Summary: Monopoly Tycoon doesn't get past the main menu Product: Wine Version: 11.12 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: bens7372@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Distribution: --- Created attachment 81385 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=81385 winegdb backtrace log I'm using the original CD version. I managed to install the game, by launching "setup.exe" directly. After completing installation, when I launch "mc.exe", the main menu appears, but, crashes are caused in two places: one, after clicking "Play Monopoly Tycoon" and another, after clicking "Configure". The "configure" dialog seems to use DirectSoundEnumerate, which itself, does work, based on a test program I wrote. However, I'm not sure what the game is doing after that. I suspect, like many older games, it's accessing memory in a way that is less acceptable in WoW mode. I can confirm that the game only works fully inside a Windows XP virtual machine, with software rendering, at a low display resolution of 640x480. On a Windows 11 Pro virtual machine, the configure window does show, but, upon playing the game, it doesn't get past the loading splash screen. I'm using Wine built from the master branch, but, I think this also affects the stable and older versions of Wine, based on my testing with the "Soda" environment in Bottles (with relaxed flatpak filesystem permissions), it crashes in a similar way. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
