If dsound is setted as builtin the game exit after the resolution change, before playing the videos. If dsound is setted as native the game play the videos and then terminate before entering the main menu. For playing music in the game it need dsound,dmime,dmsynth,dmusic,dswave as native (this issue happens in the described ways if the mentioned dll (other then dsound) are setted as builtin or native) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. It seems this bug is FIXED in 4.17, specifically in the 22993aff94ad4b3539ed99648f8180cfc7b9253c commit: winex11: Track the client colormap separately. Marking the bug as fixed, and recategorizing the bug to component x11drv as it should be. Note: At the first 2019 release winetricks replaced the quartz.dll file with another one. I could not test for this bug the new file, as there is another bug blocking (still unreported as I want to investigate it a bit more, as it seem not properly reprodcible). When quartz.dll is native and dsound.dll is builtin the game still terminate, but without involving X11 errors, so it seems it is actually something else causing this.
