I confirm this last behavior when trying the demo in my work PC from a fresh
.wine (P-IV, NVIDIA TNT2, not a Ferrari, you see, but a valid hardware
nevertheless :-P ).

However, I also tried a fresh .wine in my home PC and it kept on showing that
choppy sound and movement (now with visible characters).

I'll give it another try after upgrading my ATI drivers.
