Could you try the game with a recent Wine version, preferably with 1.5.9 or
newer?
I have problems with this shiny new Ubisoft Game Launcher (that's probably bug
#31162): it lets me launch the game only in safe mode, whatever that means.
>From Dust can be started in 1.5.9 and I can get past the loading screen, can
start a new game, but some other issues exist:
- performance is slow
- graphical glitches here and there
- the game crashes at a certain point in chapter 2 (when I try to absorb water
around the totem)
tested with the Steam version of the game
Fedora 17 x86
Nvidia 250 / driver 295.59
native components installed: XAudio dlls (winetricks xact_jun2010)

Since Béla already could get past the loading screen with an old version, assuming 'fixed'. Situation with other issues described should be probably better now.
