Automatic Regression Testing

I was sitting in a sitting room, Toying with some toys, When from a room marked Gruesome, There came a gruesome noise. I've been "toying" with an automatic regression testing system over the past month or so. The results can be seen at: http://www.astro.gla.ac.uk/users/paulm/WRT/ Currently its only using the Perl framework, which doesn't test too much at the moment. Hopefully this will change soon. FlexLM and "tcp_s is bad"

Hallo, I have a demo of a commercial Linux application, which comes with FlexLM protection but doesn't have a Linux vendor daemon. Running windows flexlm with the windows vendor daemon and --winver win95 --dll netapi32=b works fine and will save me having to run a NT Box with VMWare in the background. Good! Running Linux flexlm calling the windows vendor daemon via wine however doesn't work. Flexlm aborts with a message "tcp_s is bad!!!". Could this tcp_s be some sequence number that our present winsock implementation does wrong somehow? I can give more evidence on reqeust. Any help appreciated. homeless tweak for /usr/bin/wine

Hi, the former author and maintainer of the shell script /usr/bin/wine just recommended I submit a tweak for that script to wine-devel. I'd prefer to email only one maintainer rather than a busy list tho. If that is feasible, then who does one email tweaks for /usr/bin/wine to? _snprintf vs snprintf + proposed patch

Hello, When working on my port of wrc to windows I had to change snprintf to _snprintf in ppy.y on line 294 to build under mingw. I checked the msdn and didn't find anything on snprintf or _snprintf so I don't know if this patch will work for building under visual studio. Do I need to make a check for HAVE_SNPRINTF? I'm using msys and mingw so I can write a configure check if that is what is needed. [patch] InternetOpenUrlA (wininet)

I don't have Windoze; can't verify this actually does the same thing it does there. It does what MSDN claims it should do. I've viewed them from computers at 8 different locations. Ports 8080 tcp and 554 tcp have to be open to the Internet. I'll also open additional ports for older versions of the player to see if that helps. I'm installing 2 Darwin servers today and will eventually have the DVcassettes available in quicktime format. I don't have a camera to put the digital video tapes onto the computer at this time so the only video that is up is what was streamed from the conference. Hope to have a DVcassette player soon. wineconf summary

Here's my wineconf summary. It's not much of a summary, since it's so damn long. I wanted to record as much as possible for the developers that weren't there because I think a lot of ideas and direction was generated and should be shared among the community. I put in <> brackets in areas where I need correction, and I am going to correct some of those myself. Andi, I'd like to put this on winehq somewhere with the presentation files hyperlinked from the same page. Once I get all the presentations, I'll provide you with them. Once it's ready, maybe we can submit it to slashdot for everybody who couldn't be there. I really want to thank all of you for your participation. I not only learned a lot, I also had a really great time meeting and getting to know all of you. And I think that next time, Andi should buy the beer.

(Actually I don't understand where the _toupper is coming from) The problem is that _toupper is NOT the same as toupper; _toupper does not test that the character is lowercase; it just converts it. The patch is to hook into the existing MSVCRT__toupper and MSVCRT__tolower. Bill

Status of Wrc port to mingw

I'm currently trying to port wrc to mingw. Everthing builds fine except when running "bison -bppy -ppp -d -t ./ppy.y" I get "conflicts: 2 shift/reduce". PE loader integrated into BSD

At Wineconf tonight, people were talking about whether integrating bits of wine into the kernel was useful, and how much should be moved in. (Hello task ornaments!) Anyway, I mentioned that somebody had integrated a PE loader into BSD.
