Right button clicks

Hi Does Wine support right mouse button double clicks? I have an App with a dialog (in fact an overridden MFC CDialog for about infos) in which I can double click with the right mouse button to show some additional info. But they never show up. After +relay tracing the messages I found that only WM_RBUTTONDOWN and WM_RBUTTONUP messages are generated, none of them get converted into clicks or even double clicks, no matter how fast I click. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks Fabi

It's not entirely correct though. My tests show that SetWindowLong(GWL_HWNDPARENT) call changes simultaneously both parent and owner for top level windows and returns old value (not sure old owner or parent it is). But top level windows created by Visual Vasic are special: they have no parent, but only owner according to Spy++. In my tests I can't reproduce it yet. A bit of investigation of Wine source revealed that some places use GetAncestor(hwnd, GA_PARENT), while others use GetParent(hwnd). Since their behaviour is different in respect of top level and child windows, some major clean up in that area in Wine is needed. -- Dmitry.

Hi, the patch below fixes a few things in winemaker. It seems to work with my app, but needs more testing, especially for MFC apps. Modified files: tools: winemaker documentation: winemaker.man Changelog: - adapt winemaker to the new way winebuild handles imports. - fix crashes due to winemaker-generated wrapper app closing libraries (is this one correct??) - Fix some minor bugs in the wrapper.c template. - change semantics of --nomfc option such that it overrides automatic setting of --mfc if stdafx.h or stdafx.cpp are found. (this may cause problems to some people. For me the old behaviour was a pain in the neck, because VC++ generates stdafx.h always, even for pure C projects). The symptoms are the same, but for me the problem is only intermittent. The closest is wait_reply() (in scheduler/client.c) calls wait_reply_data (in same file), which calls NtCurrentTeb(), which is commented as an NTDLL function. Quartz DLL

Hello, I was looking at the WineX cvs version on sourceforge and it looks as if they have a quartz.dll based on ffmpeg. http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/winex/wine/dlls/quartz/ What are the odd's of this work being put into the main wine tree ? ALSA 0.9 sound problems

Hi =) I have ALSA 0.9 with OSS compat modules. I recently got DeusEx to run (on Wine w/ openGL, not talking about WineX) However using winealsa.drv sound is very laggy and lots of nasty clicks and hissing occurs, but if I use wineoss.drv sound is fine?? (note OSS driver will be talking to ALSA via the snd-pcm-oss compat module) Also when using the wineoss module and the game (not just DeusEx but most games I got working) is setting up sound it seems to freeze, all i do then is ctrl+z, fg, in controling term and things run fine from then on. -TJ

Group, I am not the only developer who has trouble reading the wine debugger screen. The solution which was pointed out will not work for me since I do not run wine that way. We should have a real solution rather than one that is bodged together anyway. What I'm getting at is, are any developers already working on making the debugger screen more readable? Since I cannot do much until this is fixed, I'll take a crack at it if somebody can give me some pointers on changing the concole appearance settings, size/font/etc. Ideally, I'd like this to be controlled by a few variables in the wine configuration file, or registry so that they can be adjusted. My personal preference would be to redirect the debugger to an unsued virtual terminal because I can read those. I'm original developer of quartz. I don't want my quartz code to be restored. There seems to be many patented algorythms. Many codecs like MPEG-1/2/4 are patented. The ffmpeg library seems to use many patented codes. And the legal state of quartz interfaces is unclear for me. I can't accept any liability. I just tried out MYOB (a popular financial program used widely in Australia). The autorun program on the CD attempts to start programs using WinExec as WinExec("whatnews\\whatnews.exe") Unfortunately the FILE_contains_pathW function belueves that is a full path which causes (in files/directory.c): if (FILE_contains_pathW(name)) { ret = DOSFS_GetFullName( name, TRUE, full_name ); goto done; } to fail and return an error to WinExec and subsequently not do anything. The below patch fixes this problem (for me) and lets me install a number of ancillory programs. Unfortunately MYOB install uses InstallShield6 as its installer, so I've had no success with the actual program. Is there a better way to do this patch? trying to draw off-screen

Does anyone know who constrains a window to be on the screen? Our application, in order to minimise flicker, does the hard work with a container application deliberately positioned well off-screen (enormous negative coordinates I think). This works under Windows. However under WINE the initial window appears in the top right corner of my screen (I think I've seen it appear in other corners too on other computers). It then resizes , keeping the same top left corner (with parts of the window off-screen) before correctly repositioning itself into the middle of the screen. Does anyone know which code is doing the initial positioning in the top right corner? Is this deliberate? Bill

wine regression - win16 file read problem!?

Hi! I have recently upgraded wine cvs and done a recompile and install. But now one of the programs I'm using does not work. My last cvs update was about 2 weeks ago. Its an old dictionary program (win16). It starts up ok, but when it tries to open the dictionary data, it says, that it is not found, and I should specify a location. I have looked at the +file debug channel output, and it does not even contain the location I have specified. Does that mean, that it does not even tries to open the file? Does somebody has some ideas where the problem could come from? Or which debug channel should I turn on to get some info about the problem? I just would like to ask for ideas before I start more serious debugging... Thanks Zsolt

Well, if you just want all .h files the DLL depends on MSVC already have that in a automatically generated "folder" called External dependencies. The H_SRCS is mostly for the .h files that you are likely to want to look at or modify while developing the DLL under MSVC. But it is not strictly nessary. It is more a convenience sort of thing. Another reason that I proposed it is that maybe H_SRCS could be used fo something else though I can't think of anything right now... But sure I can search for the .h files in the director{y,ies} of each DLL. However for a DLL like ntdll files like include/wine/exception.h is very much relevent and won't be included is such a case. Not that it really matters that much but still...

WineDbg and sources

Hello If WineDbg stops it tries to show the actual source line. With my files it always says "Unable to open file X" Looking into debugger/source.c I found that it always bails out after stat (returns -1). This seems like it can't find the file. But if I use wine wcmd I can go there without a problem. My guess is that stat is a Unix tool and therefore case sensitive so this could arise a problem. But still after trying out different cases it could never find my source files. The code looks good as does the (windows-) path it is looking for the file. The only reason is the failing return value of stat. Is it important if the files are Dos/Unix style? (Kate says it's Unix). Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks Fabi

Hello I think I found my (or better a :) problem with fonts. The function GetObject <MSDN> int GetObject( HGDIOBJ hgdiobj, // handle to graphics object int cbBuffer, // size of buffer for object information LPVOID lpvObject // buffer for object information ); </MSDN> should either return the info in the object buffer or, if this pointer is zero, just the size the required info would need. <MSDN> If the lpvObject parameter is NULL, the function return value is the number of bytes required to store the information it writes to the buffer for the specified graphics object. </MSDN> But I couldn't find this anywhere, not in the general function in gdiobj.c nor in the subtypes FONT_GetObject or BRUSH_GetObject (sure others neither). As my app uses this feature Wine tries to memcpy to a NULL pointer and jumps out of the window... literally :) bye Fabi

In doing so the company was said to be referring to the official table of fees[2], according to which a fee of 75 US cents per MP3 decoder or a one-off payment of 60,000 US dollars (for patent and software; 50,000 US dollars for the patent only) was due. As a matter of fact this rule has been in force for about eighteen months now[3]. At that time not only was the web design of MP3licensing.com modified, in the course of the creation of the then new MP3Pro the licensing conditions were also adjusted. Another decisive passage was also scrapped at that time: "No license fee is expected for desktop software mp3 decoders/players that are distributed free-of-charge via the Internet for personal use of end-users". By inquiring with the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS[4]) and MP3Pro developer Coding Technologies[5] heise online was able to verify the existence of this link -- the tumult has hence been pretty late in coming. Given that Thomson Multimedia has since then not taken any legal steps against developers or distributors of non-commercial MP3 decoders, it does not appear that the future of free MP3 decoders is in jeopardy. As it is, for Thomson to take drastic legal measures in this matter would not make much sense: There is not much money to be had from freeware and open source developers who have created their own MP3 decoders. This is probably the reason why the licensor has refrained to date from taking the appropriate steps. The situation appears to be different with regard to encoders for the creation of MP3 files, however: As a rule in these cases the Fraunhofer Institute as well as Thomson insist that the licensing conditions be met; an open source packet called lame does, however, exist (whether, in the event, its self-referential Gödelian acronym reading LAME Ain't a Mp3 Encoder has enough protective charm is a moot point). It is also not to be feared that such popular players as Winamp or the Musicmatch Jukebox will in future be distributed free-of-charge only without an MP3 decoder: Nullsoft as well as Musicmatch are among the official licensees of MP3(Pro), in the case of Musicmatch this statement also applies to its integrated encoder. Whatever the merits, if any, of the changes in licensing conditions, Mr. Emmett Plant, CEO by profession of Xiph.org Foundation has expressed his considerable delight at the turn of events. In an open letter[6] he thanked Thomson Multimedia. "Thank you for the huge amount of free advertising to our benefit created by your announcement that licensing conditions had changed," Mr. Plant wrote. The letter closes with: "We support all actions on the part of Thomson that make it plain that MP3 costs money. Once again thank you and good luck." Unlike MP3, Ogg Vorbis, recently published in its version 1.0 (according to its developers' statements), is free of patent protection and subject to the GNU Public License; hence, even in future no license fees of any sort would be due for this compression process. In Windows the members are filled nicely, lfSys.lfFaceName is "Courier". In Wine GetObject returns 60 (for whatever reason), and lfSys.lfFaceName is empty. I don't think we need to go that far as to remove it. IIRC LAME an mp3 ENCODER (that was non royalty free even before) got around it by only distributing source code and so can we. BTW: Why do we include a mp3 decoder in the Wine tree? Why not just link to an external library? I can't see maintaining a mp3 decoder being in the best intrest of Wine anyway patents or not...

The value for this error code reminds me values for STATUS_ constants. Could you check if this is correct value? Is it definend in header file with other ERROR_ constants or with STATUS_ constants? WIN_Handle{16,32} questions

Hello, while converting HWND to a void* i've seen that the WIN_Handle{16,32} functions were used (but not everywhere) to do the conversion HWND16 <--> HWND. WIN_Handle16 is declared and implemented in include/win.h and WIN_Handle32 is also declared in include/win.h but implemented in windows/win.c . I have used both functions with success in dlls/user/, windows/, controls/ but i would have to link to windows/win.c to make that work for other dlls too. Assuming that WIN_Handle{16,32} are not windows funtions (a search on google has given only links to wine pages) i would do following: - rename WIN_Handle{16,32} to HWND_{16,32} to make the naming consistent to the othe handle conversions - maybe remove the declaration of the two functions from include/win.h (or at least don't include win.h where it isn't yet used) - define HWND_16 as macro like the other HANDLE_16 macros and put it directly in the files where it's needed - HWND_32 has to do a little bit more work then the other HANDLE_32 macros and i would keep it as function. This means it has to be duplicated in every dll that needs it and one of the *16.c files in the dll directory would be the place to put it in. BreakOnDllLoad crashes Wine

Hi I set the registry setting BreakOnDllLoad to 1 to find a problem in the DllMain function of my dll. Like that WineDbg stops first while loading NTDll.dll. After continuing with c it stops again at Kernel32.dll. If I try now to continue with c I get an "illegal instruction in 32-bit code" and I can't continue. Without the registry setting it starts up without a problem. Has anyone else had this problem? Return value GetStockObject

Hi again In my app I try to get a handle to a system font with following call: HGDIOBJ hobj=GetStockObject(ANSI_FIXED_FONT); If the call succeeds it should return a handle to the requested object, otherwise zero. In Windows I get something like 0x018A000E (looks ok), but in Wine I get 0x0000009E. Even not zero I can't imagine that this is a valid handle (address). ANSI_FIXED_FONT is never really used in Wine, only SYSTEM_FONT. Is this an error or am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks Fabi

I'm completely new to the Wine project mailing list - but I noticed on the status page mentioned below there's a section for "CPU Emulation" which has "No serious efforts yet". Is there some plan to integrate bochs (or some other) x86 emulator into WINE so WINE can be run on non-x86 platforms. I realise this is very non-critical to 1.0 release! Just interested. Wine Ma os X port

Im kinda new to Wine, and I hope to get into very much, however I had one question which im sure everyone has heard alot of. Is there any way to run WINE on mac OS X being that it is based on FreeBSD. I have played around with the mac's and have gotten several linux programs to run, however i haven't tried wine yet. I do no that os X comes with many development tools that could possible be used for porting an app, but then again i am new at this so im not sure. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Question about unix path request in 2 of the wine dlls

in urlmon umon.c calls cabextract for by requesting the unix path via wine_get_unix_file_name and in shell32 shelllink.c get_unix_file_name is used in a few locations. Does anyone have a suggestion on a clean simple way to handle both of these on non-nix platforms? Can this be moved to libwine? I'm getting compiler errors when I try to compile wine with the Intel C++ 6.0 Compiler. How do I grab the screen contents referred to by an hDC?

Can anyone tell me how I can do this; I am trying to debug a problem with user32.dll under the native NT comctl32.? When drawing a ListView --debugmsg +relay shows three consecutive calls; SetRect (&rect...) FillRect (00000b04,&rect,00000082 (/* I reckon that is GetStockObject(BLACK_BRUSH)*/) DrawIcon (00000b04,0x40,0x60,hicon,...) Now as it stands I get random rubbish in the background of the icons (in the region covered by the mask). If I insert a hack into DrawIcon so that it does a FillRect (b04,the rectangle, GetStockObject (WHITE_BRUSH)) then things work out OK. (Also, the code seems to draw the icon to four hDCs and I can do the same hack on the second hDC to get the same effect but not the third and fourth). Firstly I don't understand how it has a chance of working given that it fills the rectangle with a black brush. So what I want is a way of seeing what the contents of the rectangular region is at the exit from the FillRect and the entrance to the DrawIconEx, based on the hDC. (Something like "give me the pixels of the 32x32 rectangle at this location of this hDC") Also it seems to me that these two function calls are consecutive, so if anything is changing I guess it would be as a result of code within comctl32 itself. Is there any other way that control can come back into the Wine code between a relay exit and entrance? Bill

However no rule without an exception. :-) Short explaination: In the header files it can't be done that way because the same header files must support multiple compilers and thus they can't have a shared config.h file.

IDA stopped working

Hi all, somewhere back (havn't checked when, yet), some change in WINE made IDA (The Interactive Disassembler) stop working. I am talking about the bought version, have not checked the free one. Initial analysis (using IDA) suggest some heavy anti-disassembler techniques were used in this executable. One thing that is immediatly visible, however, is that the base address (as well as the address IDA is loading under windows) is different than the on in WINE. Wine: Execution starts at 0x006fb000 Windows, as well as static base address: Execution starts at 0x00599000 I believe this may be a hint, together with the fact it is employing some wierd arithmetics on the PC to stop static analysis using tools such as IDA ;-). Before I go through the tiring process of CVSing back and finding the patch that killed it, anyone happens to know who's using 00599000 and causing the conflict? extremely simple borland C builder app hangs

How the app works. 0. show main window 1. call simple and meaningless freereport funtions (works now) 2. show [OK] dialog saying what above function returned 3. allow to press [OK] (of course ;-) 4. show main windows until it's closed. The app hangs after or around [2] it seems. Frames of main window and of the dialog show up, hovever their content is not painted and I cannot click/Enter/Esc/space anything. REQUEST: symlinks behaviour change

Hi, I would like to suggest a new way for wine deal with symlinks in some situations. The change in wine should be trivial, however I would like to know how do you feel about this. When building a fake windows tree, some files are symlinks to winelib apps in the DLLDIR . e.g. c:\windows\notepad.exe -> /usr/lib/wine/notepad.exe.so c:\windows\system\regsvr32.exe -> /usr/lib/wine/regsvr32.exe.so Some applications tries to replace this files. The way they do this is to open the file for writting. However, if the fake_windows tree is owned by a non-root user (and wine is ran by a non-root user), but the DLLDIR files are owned by root, the open will fail. This is because the user has no writting permition to the symlink destination file. This is a Good Thing, because if wine was run by root, the file in the DLLDIR would probably be replaced. However, some applications needs to replace this files. I noted this with the Internet Explorer Installer (5.01 sp1 and 6.0). If it cannot replace the c:\windows\system\regsrv32.exe file it will abort. However, as the c:\windows\system\regsrv32.exe is a symlink and wine has permition to move/delete this symlink, I would link to suggest that wine first delete the symlink file when an application tries to write on it. This has 2 benefits: 1 - wine will be able to replace files that are symlinks to files it does not have write permition. 2 - root run wine programs will not overwrite files in the DLLDIR if it tries to overwrite the symlinks that points to them. Wine Win98 setup problems...

Hi, I am having problems getting Wine to startup right. I would like to know, is there a way you can use Windows 98 Second Edition setup CD from within Wine, or does it have to be pre-installed? The only thing I changed was my config file and the error that complained about the SHAREDMEMLOCATION variable, which I copied from the source tarball(Wine-20020804.tar.gz). Hi, I think that conformance test failures should generally be easier to analyze and fix than general application failures. Thus I think we may get a community of contributers interested in specifically tracking these issues to fix them, and that some in this community may not otherwise be interested in tackling the complex diagnosis of general application failures. In other words, if we make it easy to track conformance test issues in Bugzilla, we may get new contributers (sure I realize it's not a magic bullet either). Thus I propose to add a 'test' keyword to make it easy to find such issues in bugzilla for people specifically interested in conformance tests. This keyword would apply to reports concerning a conformance/regression test that: * fails to pass on Windows * fails to pass on Wine * fails to pass on specific architectures (e.g. FreeBSD, Solaris, etc.) Note that this would be different from the regression keyword which only applies to reports describing something that used to work and no longer works. Obviously, if a conformance test used to pass in Wine but no longer does, then both keywords would apply to the report. So for instance, if one finds that a conformance test passes on Win98 but not on NT4, then one would create a bug report with the keyword 'test' and OS 'Windows NT'. If a conformance test fails to pass on Solaris systems, then the report would have the 'test' keyword and the OS would be 'Solaris'. i succeded to run the game "Wizardry 8" with original wine. Now the input is broken, almost every event is handled twice (e.g. i hit a and 2 a's appear, clicking with mouse results in doubleclick) and it does not seem to be a problem with dlls/x11drv/[event.c|keyboard.c|mouse.c]. Also the windows/input.c sends all requests only once! to see this insert in windows/input.c line 113 (the queue_raw_hardwar...): if (message == 0x0100) printf("request KeyDown\n"); if (message == 0x0101) printf("request KeyUp\n"); here, 0x0100 is WM_KEYDOWN, 0x0101 is WM_KEYUP now, i've added to scheduler/client.c line 745 (the wine_server_call): if (req->u.req.send_message_request.msg == 0x0100) \\ printf("sending KeyDown\n"); if (req->u.req.send_message_request.msg == 0x0101) \\ printf("sending KeyUp\n"); In most cases this results in two send_requests per action (mouse also) and sometimes (nondeterministic) i've got only one WM_KEYDOWN => only one keypress (at the end of the mail is some output). freereport initialization crash - cups problem?

Hi! I finally narowed down the problem with crashing freereport app while it is initializing freereport dll. I got a workaround, but real fix should be trivial for someone who knows a bit more about wineps driver. App was crashing int wineps/init.c:PSDRV_UpdateDevCaps at: physDev->horzSize = (physDev->horzRes * 25.4) / physDev->logPixelsX because physDev->logPixelsX == 0 In wineps/init.c:PSDRV_CreateDC I see: physDev->logPixelsX = physDev->pi->ppd->DefaultResolution; physDev->logPixelsY = physDev->pi->ppd->DefaultResolution; in turn ppd->DefaultResolution is filled in wineps/ppd.c:PSDRV_ParsePPD where it scans for "*DefaultResolution" or "*DefaultJCLResolution" in ppd file. For me it was /etc/cups/ppd/lp.ppd (HP DeskJet 694C, Foomatic + cdj550) Unfortunatelly there was NO "DefaultResolution" information in it. For now, because the app has more problems with running (now it hangs) I just added: "DefaultResolution: 20" to this file. But long term solution would be IMO to check in either ppd.c or CreateDC if adequatly ppd->DefaultResolution or physDev->LogPixels* are not 0. If they are... hm... no idea - maybe we can somehow calculate some values for that? Surely it shouldn't stay as it is now. Dividing by zero in wine's code is Bad Thing(tm). I've been playing around with building the wine dlls with the headers in winsup for cygwin/mingw. I've included the mingw headers after the local directory but before inclusion of the wine headers. I can build some of the more simple like twain and mapi doing this but I must also include windows.h in the sources. I noticed in wines windows.h it says it should not be included internaly so I assume this is also wrong for Mingw/MS_VC. Simple Question: Is my assumption right? Bad icon drawing under native comctl32

Hello all. I'm trying to compile our wine tree with the latest release of wine, and it seems that some of the codeweavers' helper applications don't want to compile. Specifically, when tring to do a "make" in the utils directory, it complains about the spec file for geticon. Declaring debugging channel

In what cases do I need to declare a debugging channel? As I see some debugging channels are declared with WINE_DECLARE_DEBUG_CHANNEL (e.g. channels cursor, icon, resource). Some other channels are used and not declared anywhere, e.g. (e.g. channels in comctl32.dll - animate, comtl, comboex). Documentation in DEVELOPER-HINTS seems obsolete regarding this. thread confusion

I just noticed this while looking into a problem with the ComboBox code. It makes no sense to me. The application runs a container executable which then loads up an OCX (based on the command line). Part of that OCX includes a control based on the ComboBox control. (That's another story). I added a couple of MessageBox calls in the source of the control's code. While the OCX was loading the "before" and "after" message boxes were displayed as expected. However once the OCX was up and I pulled down the dropdown list the "before" message box popped up TWICE and you had to say OK to them in the correct order to get the pair of "after" boxes. So I included GetCurrentThreadID in the message they displayed, thinking that we now had two threads. But both had (or appeared to have) the same thread ID. So I turned on the dialog warnings and, yes, the second call to MessageBox was occurring while the first was still executing. Anyone know what is going on there? Bill

OpenGL ICD

Hi everyone, I am looking into implementing opengl based on MesaGL for the reactos platform. I am currently looking into the possibility of hardware accelerating opengl but it seems microsoft has stopped spreading around it's ICD (installable client driver) documentation. Steven edwards told me marcus meissner of lionel ulmer might be able to help out here. First of all (maybe wine people won't know the details of this), if I get my hands on one of those, would that pose a legal risk on the reactos project. (They used to be distibuted to anyone, last year they were pulled of the MS website) Second of all, if using ICD documentation wouldn't be a problem, has anyone lying an old copy around? As microsoft will be open sourcing some of their protocols, there is a chance this might be one of them. Any other comments on planning to implement opengl? Jurgen

Hi, I need to run a visual basic app that accesses SQL Server. Does anyone have any experience with ADO and wine? Does the current state of wine support ADO? Should I use a connection with an ODBC instead of ADO´s SQL Server Provider? How does ODBC support work in wine? Has anybody made mySQL windows ODBC driver work under wine? The app can also acess mysql....but preferably accesses SQL Server. Thanks, Miguel

Small bug in trace msg

Hi Looking through debugmessages I found a small bug. There's a message of CALL ... (really all upper case) and the next message is appended to it, seems like there is a linefeed missing. pdb symbols

Hi I try to debug my MSVC-application, consisting of an exe and several dlls. When I start it in WineDBG it tells my that it can't find symbol information for my files. I tried having debug info in .pdb files as well as included in the linked files but nothing worked. How can I give WineDBG the symbol information? When it stops on an exception it prints me the stack trace, sometimes even with function names but I strongly suspect that the shown info is wrong now. I'm using Wine 20020605. Thanks Fabi

I play with the config-file, the system.reg but nothing changed, in the application i define no special font, so i want it change over the configuration. But how ? Unmanaged window focus problem

G'day all, I have been battling with this for a while and would appreciate the guidance of someone who knows the x11 driver better.. At http://www.wasp.net.au/~brad/test3.tgz there is a simple program that will demonstrate the error on wine with managed set to N in the config file. File is compiled with Borland Delphi 4 and includes full source for the paranoid/interested. The problem seems to be the same as most dialog box problems I encounter in managed or unmanaged mode. The program opens a small form, then after 1 second it opens a second form in modal format. The second form is focused above the first form as it should be. After another second the second form closes and the first form is again focused correctly. A third form opens and is given focus, but the first form remains the top form where the third form should be on top. In normal applications, particularly full screen ones, this means the dialog box that gets opened and focused is underneath the main window and can't be accessed. If I'm in unmanaged mode, usually I have to kill wine from a console to get control back. I have looked at a +x11drv,+timer,+message trace and found that when the third form opens, it focuses correctly however something causes the original form to then stack on top of the third form. If I only use two forms, and open/close the second one twice this does not occur. It only seems to happen when at least three diffenent windows are present. A good example. You go to quit a program and it pops up a dialog asking you if you want to save your work. When you click yes, the question dialog closes and a save file selector opens. The save file selector is focused but stacked underneath the main window and you can't get to it. In managed mode I can get to it by windowshading the main window, but in unmanaged mode I'm stuck. I have been poking around in dlls/x11drv/winpos.c but I'm having a bit of trouble following things. Unfortunately C is not my native language and so it's taking me a while to get a grasp. Hi, Ii try to start an application with wine, but the fonts used by the application are terrible. So i changed the default - entry in the config - file to change the font. Nothing changed :( I don't want any special font, only a simple mono font, how can i get it ? Reagrds Alex

When a propsheet should be opened, appended backtrace appears. PROPSHEET_CreatePage writes to ppshpage->u.pResource when PSP_DLGINDIRECT is set. On solaris gdbproxy doesn't compile because S_un is not defined, S_un is only defined on SOlaris for XPG 4 applications. The header file however exposed _S_un so should this be _S_un or do I have to invent a new test for these features. WINE fork and Win32api implementation

Hola Everyone, I'm CC'ing this to wine-devel so all of the WINE devs know whats going on as they have been very nice and supporting of my work so far. As everyone knows I've been doing a lot of work with Casper, James and Jurgan on the WINE fork to windows. I've had a lot of luck and been learning alot along the way but I dont think I can contribute much more the WINE porting work at this point from the ReactOS side. As David, Eugene and Jason are makeing lots of progress on the Windowing are just a few days/weeks(?) away from having Winhello working with the new Region code, I think someone needs to take over merging and maintaining the WINE dlls. I talked to Jason about it today and we thought that Robert might want to take over for a while if he is interested because he seems to like doing a lot of the Win32 side of things. If he is not interested does anyone else want to do it? IMHO the "right" way to fork the WINE code to best suite both projects is going to have to work like this: 1. We make a set policy of when to merge. I know Jason was wanting to change the release cycle times so the merging should be cordinated with that. Mabey like 2 weeks before a new release? 2. Whoever wants to try and maintain the fork is going to need to work with Capser on keeping the w32api headers up to date. I have submitted a few minor patches but I dont have the time to do the work that is really needed. This has been one of the biggest problems so far. Having 3 sets of headers is just a pain and all of the projects seem interested in moving to one common include system. I did a little bit of work trying to get some of the WINE dlls to compile with only the mingw headers but I didnt have the time to do to much with it. 3. Keep from forking/redunancy as much as possible. It bothers me when as small as our projects are we have already manged to have so much forking in WINE, mingw and ReactOS. How many registry editors do we need? How many filemanamgers? Once again the header thing bothers me. Sorry I'm ranting. Anyways, as things move along it should get better as we will be able to share the headers, programs, and librarys with WINE and Mingw. As of right now though I dont know how much more I can do with my limited skill. So who wants to do it? In another few weeks/month we are going to need to to try and get WINEmine, notepad and win/winefile working and import shell32, comctl32 and comdlg32. I'm going to keep submitting patches to the winehq.com tree as I find fun and interesting stuff. I still want to work toward having a drop in replacement with the "bleeding edge". My hope is that ReactOS will one day work off of the stable wine 1.0 if it is ever released =) and people that want the cutting edge can build wine 1.x dlls/programs for a ReactOS system. Most of my work from now on though is going to focus documentation, testing and spreeding the word about OpenSource, ReactOS, Wine and Mingw. Now, I don't need this file for my tests, so I just skip compiling it, but the problem is .... wierd. Do you need a more info? > Oliver, you gave an good backtrace showing where the application crashed (function TOOLBAR_Referesh in toolbar.c around line 976). It looks like some part of the data concerning the toolbar buttons is not properly initialised (or got corrupted). Unfortunately it does not show why this happened (and why it happens with not you and not anyone else). Therefore you should try to produce the --debugmsg +relay output, and while you are at it better the --debugmsg +relay,+toolbar output. If you cannot cut this log to the interesting part, then zip or bzip2 the complete output, put it somewere on the net and give us the URL or mail it to me. I will compare your output with a similar one here, perhaps that gives some insight. When did this problem start? If by upgrading wine, which versions. Anything else changed on your system? The file dialog that crashes for you opens the last used directory. This directory can be found/inspected/changed in agent.ini. Try to change it, see if that makes a difference. rhlx01 cvs mirror "downtime"

Hi all, unfortunately the rhlx01 cvs mirror has been "down" for some days (no cvs syncs) due to a mail loop and thus the main admin having disabled the procmail processing.
