Console regression?

Since updating to today's CVS, I am no longer able to run Trainz, the app I am currently working on developing sound support for. I get some traces pointing to an apparent problem with console handles. Here's a snippet of the trace (please excuse me, but I can't post the whole thing easily as my dev box isn't the one that I have mail on and they don't speak to each other -- i.e. the traces are being copied by hand....) 000a: get_console_input_info( handle=(nil) ) 000a: get_console_input_info() = INVALID_PARAMETER { history_mode=0, [... Ed.] 000a:trace:seh:EXC_RtlRaiseException code=c000013a flags=0 addr=0x402b8a92 [Exception details and app going down in flames omitted for brevity - Ed.] Taking a look at the code for get_console_input_info() in server/console.c, it appears that the variable 'console' is not set and that (my guess here) this line in console_input_get() if (!console && !geterror()) set_error(STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER); is directly responsible for the error. Now, as to what the real issue is here, I have absolutely no clue since I know zilch about the wine server code. But perhaps someone who does can work with me on trying to figure out what is going wrong here. Your patch removes the Euro character from the French layout. You should better try to enable the Euro support. Well, this might well be old news, I don't know, but I found this story interesting: http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/reports/4780/1/ (LinuxPlanet is mostly a general news/aggregation website, but they sometimes have unique stories too) It talks about a new venture from TransGaming Technologies, called "AclereX", which specialises in application (not game) porting. It turns out they have a website (unfinished?) here: www.aclerex.com and an interesting datasheet. The messages sent by this website are a bit confusing - it seems on one hand that they will be specialising in app porting, and indeed the LinuxPlanet story suggests that it'll be a service, not a product, but the website also says: • AclereX is seamless and transparent. • AclereX is easy to use with its ‘Point and Go’ interface. • AclereX provides 7/24 technical support access. .. which makes it sound like a product that will be packaged and sold, as "Point and Go" sounds very much like Point2Play, intended for managing many installed programs. I suppose at some point it'll maybe be announced here on wine-devel by Gav, but as they've been talking to journalists at trade shows about it, it seems fair game to point it out here now. Usage of remove_timeout_user in the wineserver

Hi Alexandre, There is sometimes a double free in the wineserver, in fd.c Basically the callback for the timeout is called, and the callback (for instance in set_next_timer:queue.c) calls remove_timeout_user() which does a free( user ), but at the end of handle_timeout() it also performs a free, so I think the same timeout struct is freed twice. I don't know how to fix this bug - I commented out the free in remove_timeout_user and that stopped the wineserver from segfaulting or dieing inside malloc, but it might cause a memory leak in the case where a timeout is added and then removed before being handled. It's too bad there is no way to check if a pointer has already been freed. Maybe a flag (inside_callback) in the timeout_user struct, so we know not to free it in remove_timeout_user()? [RESEND] Sync (46): msvcrt cpp test

Hi, Now the cpp RTTI changes are in, the tests for them can be applied. this is a slighly updated version of the original patch that fixes a problem with asm, register clobbers and optimisation I found when I moved to gcc 3.2.2, and also works with really ancient, buggy versions of msvcrt. You'll need to re-run ./configure after applying.
