DirectDraw driver question

Hello, Wine has 2 DDraw drivers: An accellerated HAL driver and a software-based user driver. I've noticed that the HAL driver uses many basic functionality from the user + gdi driver, and that the hal driver is the prefered one. But is there any situation where the user driver is used directly? Thanks, Stefan

The only Solaris 9 binary I could find was from his website at: http://www.members.optushome.com.au/bobl/ The only problem is that it is 20040309, which is over a year and a half old and it has the RTLD_FIRST problem. various combinations of symlinking /usr/ccs/bin/as to /opt/sfw/bin/gas and back, with and without running configure between makes does change the output significantly. Some combinations give the Assembler Message Unknown pseudo-op '.half', but most combinations give the illegal mnemonic or dozens of the following error: (standard input): Assembler messages: (standard input): 4802: Error: Rest of line ignored. First ignored character is '@'' Since changing the symlink appears to change the behaviour, I would assume that gcc IS trying to use as instead of gas, but it also seems that adding the symlink and running configure should make it use gas. Now Im really confused. I read somewhere that someone had to maually configure gcc to use gas. Not sure how to do that at all, but now that is my next task. The same kind of problem can happen too with ld. Robert Lunnon makes some Solaris version of Wine, maybe you could find them. Vincent

BadMatch recurring errors

A lot of people are complaining about BadMatch on #winehq and in a lot of bug reports (old or new). Does someone know what they are about ? Organizing more Wine bug triage

Wine's bugzilla has 375 unconfirmed bugs reported since the beginning of the year. A fair number of these are worth fixing, but don't have good recipes for how to reproduce them. I think it's time to make a concerted effort to recruit more Wine users to help triage bug reports, so wine developers can spend less time sorting through poor bug reports. As a first stab, I've created a web page, http://kegel.com/wine/qa describing bug triage and giving easy steps for people who are interested in helping. Please have a look. Problem Resolve

Hi, I had a problem with Wine20050830 compilation. Error: error parse before "BerElement"; in lines: 289, 290, 322, 323 in "wine/dlls/wldap32/winldap_private.h" file. In file winldap.h I found declaration of BerElement type. This header is not included in winldap_private.h. I put declaration of BerElement type to winldap_private.h and it resolved the problem. I tried add line: #include "winldap.h" to winldap.h too, but it makes double declaration errors. I'm sorry if my English is horrible :) Well I hope my letter will be helpful. Perhaps this error appear only on my computer (?) :D Fun of your Wine.

Hi all, I have the following error when trying to install Warblade (old fashioned shoot'em up) : WINEDLLOVERRIDES="comctl32=n" wine Download/Warblade_12E_full.exe err:heap:HEAP_ValidateInUseArena Heap 0x41a20000: in-use arena 0x41a2c408 next block has PREV_FREE flag I found various messages related to heap error by browsing the mailing-lists archives, but no patch neither solution so far... Segfault on fedora core 4

Sorry if this sounds like a user question. Running wine on my P4 with Fedora core 4 segfaults immediately, but doesn't drop into the debugger. Trying to run, say, winecfg in a debugger gives me: WineDbg starting on pid 0xa Process of pid=0x0000000a has terminated This never returns; a ps list shows winedbg and wineserver are still running. Pressing Ctrl-C kills it. Running with a relay trace shows the last thing is a return from kernel32.TlsAlloc(). I'm asking here because I haven't seen it raised before except back in April when there was no resolution. The suggested workaround (disable SELinux) doesn't work for me. Is this a known problem?
