ISvItemCm_fnQueryContextMenu load menu from .rc: Patch writing problems

Hello, I'd like to modify ISvItemCm_fnQueryContextMenu (shell32/shv_item_cmenu.c) in a way that it loads the strings from the .rc file. But I have some trouble. I modified the shell32_En.rc to look like the created context menu, but which puzzles me is that there are two times the same ID: FCIDM_SHVIEW_OPEN for "&Select" and for "&Open" which are shown at the same time! Depending on context (i.e. flags), I need to remove the "&Select" and switch the order of Explore and Open. But somehow the code below does not work (I think MF_BYPOSITION might cause the problem, but since Select and Open have the same id, I cannot use MF_BYCOMMAND). Any pointer what I'm doing wrong? Is there a way to extract an icon from a DLL? Wine seems to do this automatically when programs are installed, I just can't figure out how. Is there a way to do it from the commandline? -Brian

Hi! I have a small update: Stuart Axon sent me a screenshot of the same app from wxp. Thanks! I placed the image together with the first (bad) one, the URL is http://www.sinus.cz/~patrol/ircape-wxp.png . Comparing the two images, one can find, that 1) Size of both is identical 2) Basic graphic elements are also identical 3) The slider is much bigger and incorrectly positioned 4) The same applies to the text window 5) Other elements are not present at all (Insert time info, Insert pause time) 6) The lonely checkbox may belong to "auto line change" text Observing this, can anybody determine a part of wine (dll or so), which is responsible for this ? The thing is that Wine actually compiled for me (and apparently for Alexandre as he doesn't commit the patches that doesn't compile) without any warning or an error. A reason it didn't compile for you is a more recent gcc version you are using. Wine 20050310 redraw problems (specifically with Paint Shop Pro 7)

I remember posting about this quite a while ago but decided to revisit it, and it seems like it's still an issue in the 20050310 build of wine. Wine has real trouble with refreshing drawing surface windows in Paint Shop Pro 7: - the background in a new image window isn't cleared - tools that display tooltips (such as the colour selector control) leave tooltip debris all over the drawing surface when they're moved around. - drawing surface isn't refreshed if partially / totally obscured by other windows and then made visible again. Normal windows, dialogs etc. are working fine (and tooltips work fine too above normal controls) - it would seem that the drawing surfaces in PSP7 are handled differently (presumably for speed reasons) and wine is having some serious problems handling them. Any ideas for a workaround / patch, or is this bug known about and in the pipeline to be sorted out? I've exhausted various options in the Wine config file to do with display output; the problem seems to be in core code somewhere. I get the following error message at startup as follows: fixme:ole:CoRegisterMessageFilter stub followed by several: err:region:CombineRgn Invalid rgn=(nil) ... the latter used to happen an awful lot in earlier wine builds whilst the app was being used, but note that it's *not* happening with the 20050310 build whilst I try and use the app; only at startup time. (In other words, it's quite possibly not related to the redraw issues at all) Any ideas? PSP7 is so "almost there" that it'd be a shame if it wasn't 100%... Happy to provide further details if someone gives me instructions as to what to look at! cheers Jules

Hello. I'm interested in Google Summer of code. My cousin, Jacek, has wrote here about it. I'm going to write a translator to rc files. I was thinking about how should it look like. In my opinion it has to have its own rc parser (I can integrate the wrc parser). I think this tool should have: - Listed every string that has to be translated - Preview of dialogs so that user can change its parameters characteristic for the language version (like size of controls) - RC files upgrading options - Nice UI with some useful options that makes translating easier Because rc files have very different syntax than po files and we need some specific options, I don't think using tools like poEdit is good choice. It won't make translations comfortable for users. This tool has to be as easy as possible, so users that have no coding experience can use it. Translating cannot expect user to know anything about syntax of rc files. Thanks, Piotrek

He's really only checking for the presence of <linux/videodev.h>, so on systems that don't have <sys/types.h>, <linux/videodev.h> won't exist either (it's always present on Linux.)
