Wine on NetBSD?

Hello, I was enquiring as to whether or not Wine is compatible with NetBSD, or if any other port of Wine is compatible with NetBSD. If not are there any plans to make this so? Regards, Bryce

Safedisc 1 works on wine

Finally we've got safedisc1 running on linux. Thanks go to *Laurent* Pinchart, Vitaliy Margolen, *Brad DeMorrow, Marcus Meissner, and Alexandre for contributing time/code/ideas. The code is 100% DMCA compliant and hopefully can be cleaned up to be good enough for cvs over the coming days and weeks. Wine can't load DLL, built with Winelib.

Hello All! Please, look at the applied sources (Makefile, main application, spec-file and library module). I tried to load library, from main application (with LoadLibrary(...)). Both application and DLL, are built with winelib, using winegcc. I found strange behaviour - then DLL loaded from current working directory, all things are OK, but then I tried to load DLL from .\Test\Dir\ (for example), LoadLibrary returns NULL. wineconsole --backend-user

After an underwhelming response to my last query, I dug a little deeper and while I'm not too familiar with windows code I can't seem to figure out what is wrong with user.c that gives me my funny display. It would seem that either bitblt isn't working as advertised or the memory DC isn't being written properly (or it's not compatible with the display context). Does --backend=user work under Linux ? Anyway, before I spend a great deal of time on this, I am prompted to ask how important is this backend, seeing I have curses working properly. I could easily make the user backend default to the curses implementation for compatibility short term. Is there a downside to this? Is this something that's likely to be deprecated soon ? Bob

d3d8 / wined3d, missing prototypes

When compiling d3d8 and wined3d I get quite a few warnings about missing function prototypes. Eg, "warning: implicit declaration of function `glMultiTexCoord1f'" etc. This in turn causes things like texture coordinates to be all messed up (screenshot attached). I'm using the nVidia OpenGL headers. In the case of wined3d it seems to be caused by GL_GLEXT_PROTOTYPES being defined to late. In include/wine/wined3d_gl.h: #define XMD_H /* This is to prevent the Xmd.h inclusion bug :-/ */ #include <GL/gl.h> #define GL_GLEXT_PROTOTYPES #define GLX_GLXEXT_PROTOTYPES #include <GL/glx.h> #ifdef HAVE_GL_GLEXT_H # include <GL/glext.h> #endif #undef XMD_H Seems ok, but gl.h actually includes glext.h: #ifndef GL_GLEXT_LEGACY #include <GL/glext.h> #endif Moving the #define GL_GLEXT_PROTOTYPES up to before the #include <GL/gl.h> fixes it. Pretty much the same goes for d3d8, except that for d3d8 GL_GLEXT_PROTOTYPES doesn't appear to be defined at all. Theming SoC outcome

Hi, as some of you may have noticed, I did a bunch of theming-related work in Wine, which was done within a project in Google's Summer of Code. This is a small overview over what I've done: - All "non-standard" controls(those that are provided by comctl32, e.g. Tabs) are themed and seem to work quite well so far. - All standard controls except Buttons and Scrollbars are themed, though not always perfect. - Due the fact that uxtheme was actually used, a number of fixes and improvements have been made. However, there are still things left open: - Bugs. Notably, the dreaded A->W WM_GETTEXTLENGTH issue breaking all Delphi apps. Working on it though. - A number of smaller and not so small visual glitches. - Speed. Seems with alpha blending things are not exactly blazing along. At least for some of the issues I still have some ideas floating around, so I guess I'll stick around a bit longer and try to get them fixed. -f.r.

Yeah! I put together a web page to help guide new wine volunteers to do just that. It's at http://kegel.com/wine/qa and I'm starting to publicize it. cant find dll in current dir.

I have installed an app without too many issues but now when running it , it cant find a dll that is in the current directory from which I ran the wine command. "cant find nstex50.dll" ls -ail nstex50.dll 407904 -rw-r--r-- 1 wino users 184370 Feb 13 2003 nstex50.dll running wine with windebug dll channel and grepping the output, I get the following : does that look like it can find it or not. I dont understand the wine output. I suspect the error is not what it is showing in the errdlg!
