The "fixme" message occurs when I try to run external programs within the famous simulator/IDE "VMLAB" (http://www.amctools.com/download.htm) I believe AMC Tools knows about the problem (http://www.amctools.com/wine.htm) but he has no solution til now. Dogfood Challenge, week 2

OK, I've been using OOo2.0.1 and Firefox 1.5 running under wine cvs for about two weeks. Firefox is quite usable; I read gmail in it routinely. There's just one ugly little rendering problem: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4441 And the stars on each message in the list look funny, but they're recognizable. Worst thing is, when you try to copy from Firefox to another app, the clipboard is bare: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4523 But overall it's not bad. OpenOffice is less happy. It locks up quickly in the File / Open dialog box: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4525 So... at this point, Wine+firefox pass the dogfood challenge for people who just need to do basic web browsing, but needs some work for people who need word processing. - Dan -- Wine for Windows ISVs: http://kegel.com/wine/isv

We need a --disable-rpath option in configure for rpath disable. Rpaths is not useful when WINE building for distribution. Will I add --disable-rpath of there is a better suggestion? Although #ifdef GL_VERSION_2_0 will make compilation work with older OpenGl headers, it's not the way to fix this. Basically, wined3d should check for functionallity during runtime with GL_SUPPORT and call extensions with GL_EXTCALL. The issue has come up a few times before with patches from the same author, and I think he should be aware of the issue by now.

libxml2 use in Wine?

A user reported that when he has libxml2 installed when building Wine, "some apps" work fine whereas without libxml2 he get's warning and errors and reduce functionality. And indeed the configure code and some other part of Wine do refer to libxml2. However, there is now documentation (as verified via `grep -ri libxml2`) that mentions libxml2 in any way. I'll do everything you suggested. If you want to compile the patch you will need the separate patch for windns.h.
