I would like consideration given to http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3739 http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4362 I would imagine Adobe PhotoDeluxe might be quite common among home users (who may get a copy with their digital camera, and not fork out for full Photoshop). The other bug has a proposed fix - and something of a testcase to prove it. Its just a matter of getting it squared up and applied. Regards Karl

I asked in the user channel after i was informed it was the wrong channel. Anyways, can I get unbanned from #winehq? You can do a whois on tsukasa to find my info.

No joy with XComposite extension on Gutsy on Thinkbook X60

Sorry, here's a little brain dump before I go to bed. I'm running updated Gutsy beta on a Thinkbook X60, and am testing out wine from git on Google Earth. Initially it aborted on startup with X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 145 (XFree86-DRI) The log also showed it couldn't find the XComposite extension, and sure enough, config.log showed configure hadn't found it. I think I fixed this with sudo apt-get install libxcomposite-dev and reconfiguring and rebuilding Wine. But now when I start Google Earth, it aborts with DRM_I830_CMDBUFFER: -22 According to http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=394311 this is "libgl1-mesa-dri: i965_dri.so miscompiled with current gcc". A patch was attached there: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=30;bug=394311 The bug's been reported to Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/66645 Any clues? - Dan

With very few exceptions, Wine's bugzilla bug reports should be about apps only. If any apps fail because of the exact same cause (bug), then the appropriate bugs need to be marked as duplicates of the original bug report. Topics like "Wine should report 32bit color depth instead of 24bit" and "GetDeviceCaps: BITSPIXEL returning 15 on 15bit graphics" are development planning information, and as such this information belongs in the wiki. Unless I'm mistaken, the formerly quoted bugs are all about the fact that Wine returns 24bit color depth instead of 32bit. Why are there at least 6 bug reports about one bug? bug 3319 should be closed as invalid, moving the information to the wiki. bugs 9918, 4278, 4935 and 5671 need to be marked as duplicates of bug 2680. > This appears to be the 'original' bug 9918. As of this writing, there are 3218 open bugs in our bugzilla. Countless many of those bugs are invalid or duplicates, so we don't need to knowingly add to the clutter. Here's a grep that's handy when looking at the output of 'make test': egrep '__test|make.*ok|Backtrace' This shows which .ok file failures and crashes occur, and also makes it easy to see which dll's they're in. -- Wine for Windows ISVs: http://kegel.com/wine/isv

Maximum window size, help needed

Hi, I want to improve wineconsole a little, max hor and vert console window dimensions. To achieve this, I need to know maximum available size of window on the desktop. The simpliest way I found is to use GetMonitorInfo, but it does not take into account desktop panels. As the result, maximized window fills entire desktop, overlapping with KDE panel. So the question: is there such function, smth like GetMaxWindowSizeWithoutDesktopPanels, which clips panels? Thanks in advance -- Kirill P.S. Application which uses this - Far Manager
