Call of Dutty 4 works!!

stdout for win16 tests

win16 doesn't have the notion of stdout/stderr, so 16 bit C compilers like watcom tend to simulate stdout by putting up a window. http://win16test.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/test.h (a port of the 32 bit test.h) uses freopen to open a log file to receive all the ok() and trace() output from the tests instead of letting it go to the fake stdout window. That's fine, but it means that crashes and wine output from wine itself don't get mixed in properly (since they go to linux stderr, not to win16 "stderr"). So I threw together a patch that uses the dos stdout that is shared by all win16 apps. Not sure if it's the right way to go, but it does let you use plain old redirection to capture the log messages, and it lets you redirect both test app traces and wine traces to the same file. I'm sending it to wine-devel mostly so Lei and anyone else working on the 16 bit tests can have a look. Imm is disabled by default on North American Windows installations. That's a behavior I think should be mimicked in wine. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms776161.aspx IMM is only enabled on East Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) localized Windows operating systems. defining and revamping our bugzilla categories

I agree the wine- prefix should be removed. Currently we have quite some categories where I don't really know how they are defined, so the description should be enhanced so there is no confusion over what goes in them. Currently we have some categories that exactly fit to one dll and some categories that include multiple dlls that are related. Also there is overlap between those two. (And perhaps some that fit in neither.) E.g. there is wine-quartz (one dll dlls/quartz/ ) and wine-directx-dshow (includes dlls/{quartz,msdmo,qcap}/ ). The best is probably to have no overlap and have multi-dll/path categories contain the shell-glob of path/files that it contains. I think in some cases multi-dll categories are preferable to single-dlls ones. A even better example for this than dshow is wine-directx-d3d, where before the bug is fixed it might not be easily known if it is in d3d9 or wined3d and a bug might exist in the same way in more than one d3d version. >From previous discussions on irc I know some people want to have a radical one category per dll approach, please speak up now. 1.0 Bugs - Microsoft Office 2003

I was able to get around bug 9023 with a patch applied to the appdb and I did some further testing in Office 2003 today. Initially I'm prompted to activate my copy of microsoft office 2003, and both means of activating the application are broken in wine due to bugs 9943 and 9944. Then I tried to open VBA inside of Office and was prompted with a dialog stating unable to open macro storage(bug 8795). The only real reason I use Microsoft Office over Open Office is the need for VBA integration. request for kernel32/toolhelp windows testrun

Hi, I have a game (Last Chaos USA by AeriaGames) which does not start up the main game due to a bug in its toolhelp snaphot handling. It does: h = CreateToolhelp32Snapshot(); Process32First(h, &x); while (Process32Next(h,&x)) { /* check x */ } So it discards the very first entry we return from the snapshot. However it is looking for itself here and in current Wine it is in the first entry, ... so failure. So I reorder the list to be backwards and it works better then. BUT I would like to test run it on windows first, so can someone please run following patch against a real Windows?
