I like to reapply my patches a lot - so this gets rid of trailing
whitespace and applies the patch.

Just thought I'd send out. I know there's tools to avoid trailing
whitespace in emacs (http://github.com/glasserc/ethan-wspace works
well), but this is my simple solution ;)
