Bug #: 32706
Summary: No sound with foobar2000: Unknown error code
(0x80070057)
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: winehq(a)supradigital.org
Classification: Unclassified
After the wine upgrade to wine-1.5.21 I have exactly the problem described at
bug 23568 (which was that instead of sound one would get an error message)
None of the suggested method worked (changing windows version, deleting prefix,
re-installing foobar).
I made sure an output device is selected but for all devices but the null
device I get the elsewhere mentioned error message:
"Unrecoverable playback error: Unknown error code (0x80070057)"
I am using arch linux on a 64bit system with OSS as my output.
Sound does work in winecfg when pressing the Test button.
Maybe of importance: When I press play in foobar, I here a short "noise" in the
speakers.

free download from:

Automatically installed Mono and Gecko while first running winecfg.
cd to STEP7_Lite_V30_incl_SP4 folder then run it :
$ wine Setup.exe
everything went normally until "Siemens Automation License Manager Setup", the
process crashed with a dialogbox showed like the attachment.
and closing it wouldn't affect the next.
I've tried in wine 1.5.21 & 1.4 too.

directconnect still is not implemented, and using directconnect with winetricks
fails or hang... it also happens in age of empires 2 and a lot of games that
use direct connect...

Tried with wine 1.4.1, and Source Insight 3.50.0070 I can confirm that this
combination works as intended, with respect to the Docking. There are still
some other issues, but I'll open new bugs on these.

I could not get the 32 bit libs for wine to compile on my mint 14 64 bit.
Testing with what I got from ubnutu ppa's Wine CMD Version 5.1.2600 (1.5.22)
and it still crashes when printing with with image (jpeg) on document and no
crash with just fonts.

I (for one) have subscribed to and continue to watch this bug. It seems to be
a well understood bug, but is not fixed.
