First of all, it ain't over. The circuit said that the question of
inter-operability is a question of fair-use, not copyrightability.
In that sense, it's a major set-back to the entire industry for a
bunch of reasons, but does not immediately affect wine.
The other aspect is that if this goes through the implications for
anyone who is trying to interface with GPL software will be as
severe. I'm not sure MS will be a great beneficiary. Whether that
will affect its stance on Wine is still debatable.
