Our test system is CENTOS 4, and the output of cat /proc/version is Linux version 2.6.9-55.0.2.ELsmp (mockbuild(a)builder4.centos.org) (gcc version 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-8)) #1 SMP Tue Jun 26 14:30:58 EDT 2007 We installed wine 0.9.40 using YUM while logged in as root. Install went fine, with no reported errors. However, all text is displayed as tiny underscores, exactly as in the image above. For testing purposes we are using the notepad.exe that comes with the Wine install.
