It seems to be a VB6 app, so I did winetricks vcrun6 vbrun60 before installing. This helped the installer complete without warnings about missing vb runtime. However, on startup, the app complains FileAnt needs a Microsoft file. It also needs some XML functions we don't yet implement. To get past those issues, do wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks sh winetricks msxml3 vcrun6 winver=winxp The installer gets pretty far, but fails with wine: Call from 0x7ee51f20 to unimplemented function gdiplus.dll.GdipGetImageEncodersSize, aborting and a dialog box offering to send a crash report for ImpCnt.exe. So the missing gdiplus function is the subject of this bug. (You can get further by installing native gdiplus, but the install hangs about 2/3 through the progress bar. WINEDEBUG=+ole wine incredimail_install.exe shows warn:file:CreateFileW Unable to create file L"C:\\Program Files\\IncrediMail\\bin\\Licenses\\IM_PREM.imk" (status c000011f) trace:ole:ICreateErrorInfoImpl_SetDescription (0x147c930): L"Keylib error: #7 -> CANNOT OPEN FILE" Adding +file shows that it is successfully opened many, many times, and it does exist. Maybe we're running out of file handles, or something, because of a possible leak in the installer. The next problem is that it needs Real Player com objects. Fortunately, installing Real Jukebox 1 (yes, version 1) seems to satisfy this. ( You can download Real Jukebox 1 from http://forms.real.com/real/player/blackjack.html ) Before running, make sure Real Jukebox can play an .mp3 file. Also install Gecko (winetricks gecko) before starting, as somehow the gecko autodownload is themed out of its mind after installing those two apps. Then try to start the app. It puts up an error dialog "Einvalidop" fairly early and gives up. The installer also starts the copying of files. However, it stops around 80% during the copying of files with an "ERROR, Copying Files " message being displayed in the installer after that.
