Simply returning TRUE instead of FALSE got past the crash. After that a blank window showed, so unfortunately i had to use ies4linux again to get past that screen and start the game. Apart from a missing cursor, it seems to run quite fine. One time it git beyond this stage, and the menu + all fonts looked fine.
