In 11.0-rc1 (Used the winehq wine-devel deb package), Total War Shogun 2 (D3D 9 mode) crashes on init with the last messages being err messages from wined3d_texture_load_location and wined3d_texture_invalidate_location. The crash happens in both 32bit and 64bit wine prefixes on all of the systems I've tried it on, one with proprietary nVidia drivers and one with an Intel iGPU. (An old Haswell board.) Logs from a clean 64bit wine prefix on the Haswell machine attached. (Ignore the injector exe in the log. That's for getting the game's log files moved into a user specific folder instead of the game's install dir. Both during normal usage, but more critically, when it's VRAM budget is low or over-committed. This is my first Linux computer and I'm honestly lost on what is happening. I've tried fixing it myself but have had no luck. Started after I had battle.net installed, had it working and then had it not work the next day when I was trying to get diablo IV set up. It's now gotten to a point were I have a battle.net program running that I've tried to uninstall multiple times. The wine unistaller isn't working , and I'm getting this error. I'm also unsure on how to bring up the rest of the error log, so I only pasted what I can get into the attachment. This weekend i updated to 11-rc1 and noticed that eve online now has a white screen instead of its launcher. This only happens on my pc though, and my laptop can run it fine. things ive tried * run 11-rc1 on both pc and laptop * removed my wine prefix and start a new one * revert to 10.20 (which made the issue disappear) i currently have major prefix issues (all wine commands just... hang and do nothing), but even a new prefix (which fixes the hanging) just shows a white screen. The VS2022 (and I think also VS2019) C++ standard library in C++20 mode uses this DLL to implement the timezone database as specified by the C++ standard. The standard library loads this DLL dynamically with LoadLibraryExW (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…>) and throws a std::system_error (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…> and <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…>) when it cannot load it. In order to provide compatibility with modern Windows versions, IMHO Wine should thus ship a compatible icu.dll. A similar issue also exists for older Windows versions even on the Microsoft side (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/issues/1911>). This issue arose since I recently modernized timezone handling in OpenMPT by using C++20 chrono. For now, I have worked around the problem in OpenMPT. In this installation I stumbled on the issue that the EAC plugins were not recognized. This issue is said to be fixed in #43270. I have manually compiled Wine 4.17 for 32bit, which let to the output in the attachment. After winetricks dotnet20 I was able to run EAC.exe, including the plugins that were previously missing, this resulted in not able to retrieve information about CDs. But this seems to be a side effect of the plugins "working". When selecting Build-in freedb engine under Metadata options, information was retrieved. The second attachment shows the problem using the CUETools plugin.
