Steps to reproduce: 1. Download and install WebView2 (which includes Edge) from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/ 2. Run: wine "/PATH/TO/PREFIX/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft/EdgeCore/VERSIONNUMBER/msedge.exe" --no-sandbox --disable-gpu --no-first-run Edge will launch, it will respond to inputs for a very short time, then freeze completely. --no-sandbox is required for it to launch at all, I will also file a bug for this issue. --disable-gpu is required wine wined3d, it can be dropped if using DXVK. --no-first-run disables the first run prompting you to sign in and such, it has no bearing on the bug itself. When Wine is set to Windows version 8 or later, checking for the certificate signing chain (-i flag) results in an infinite loop. It keeps repeating the output with the certificate chain appearing hundreds of times per second. With winecfg version set to Windows version 2008 R2 or earlier, it works fine. Reproduced with NVIDIA 535.43.22 and with nouveau/Mesa 23.3.3 as well. Not a regression, the problem is present with every Wine version I tried back until 1.9.11. To reproduce the problem with the early demo version + UIM.06 patch: 1. Install the demo version, link is in URL. Setting Win98 mode is advisable because the installer is from that era. Don't start the demo yet. 2. Install the UIM.06 patch over the demo: http://www.zedo.hardwar.info/HardwarUIM06.zip 3. Start Hardman.exe (launcher), select Display tab, enable '32 Bit Textures' option in Image Quality. The rest of the options here have no effect on the bug. 4. Go back to the 'Game' tab in the launcher, <Launch...>, <OK>, <Save>. The game should enter the main menu. 5. Enter a pilot name then select a job and voilà... you are in the cockpit with psychedelic textures everywhere. In winecfg, enable the virtual desktop (the game crashes on start without it) 2. Run D:\foxbear\foxbear.exe from the Windows 95 Game SDK CD 3. Press Alt+Enter to switch to windowed mode On Wine, the solid blue of the sky and the solid greens of the trees and grass change to black. Interestingly, the solid colors are still black even after pressing Alt+Enter again to switch back to fullscreen mode. When I run the game on Windows 95 on my 486, the colors remain correct when switching between fullscreen and windowed mode. It's amazing to be able to run this thing with Wine 11.0 on an oldish 64-bit system (with propriatery Nvidia 340.108 x11-only driver). Unfortunately in this case it still seems quite unstable due to different types of errors (see attachment). When the game starts or after changing menu screen, main menu is completely black. Graphics can be visible only after pushing any button in the menu, but releasing mouse button elsewhere.
