That was my most careful point when designing it. When enabled, of course it WILL cause many regressions, the engine is still in its initial state. I suppressed 'configure' file on the patch, as it was an huge diff and anyways it can be autogenerated. You'll need probably an 'autoconf' command before the configure-build steps. Instructions on how enable/disable the engine are the same as before.
