It uses WinRing0 to access parallel port from any windows version. Using this script (http://people.freebsd.org/~ivoras/wine/patch-wine-nvidia.sh) i have installed 32-bit version of the same driver. The work-around (still valid for 1.1.39) is to disable the pixel shader in winecfg. UseGLSL=disabled changes nothing (in 1.1.39).
