http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60292 Bug ID: 60292 Summary: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: graphical overlay/corruption in 3D scenes after starting or loading a game Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 URL: https://store.steampowered.com/app/32370/STAR_WARS_Kni ghts_of_the_Old_Republic/ OS: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: regression Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: opengl Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: gyebro69@gmail.com CC: rbernon@codeweavers.com Target Milestone: --- Regression SHA1: 7a6c3c05b68ab549e44fd9a18033c0f52a78910c Distribution: ArchLinux Created attachment 82031 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=82031 screenshot Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has a graphical regression in current Wine git. Wine 11.16 works correctly. The regression is introduced by commit 7a6c3c05b68ab549e44fd9a18033c0f52a78910c opengl32: Always isolate some object names allocated in win32u. The intro videos and main menu render correctly. After starting a new game or loading a saved game, a large coloured/transparent graphical overlay or pattern appears over the 3D scene. Nothing relevant is displayed in the terminal. The issue affects both the Steam and GOG versions of KOTOR I. KOTOR II is not affected. The issue exists only with NVIDIA driver (610.57.04) but not with nouveau. Present under native X11 (XFCE) and when using XWayland on KDE Plasma, but doesn't exist with the native Wayland driver on NVIDIA. Occurs both in virtual desktop mode and Wine fullscreen mode. Workarounds I found to get rid of the corruption midgame: 1. In normal fullscreen mode Alt-Tabbing away from the game and back removes the corruption until the next game launch. 2. Changing certain graphics settings in-game, such as anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, or graphics detail level, also removes the corruption. This workaround works in Wine virtual desktop mode as well. These settings cause the game to reload its graphics resources. wine-11.16-348-g9ce1651515d OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation OpenGL renderer string: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER/PCIe/SSE2 OpenGL core profile version string: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 610.57.04 -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
