The call seems to fail because GetVolumeNameForVolumeMountPointW cannot handle paths like \\?\B:\. I made a test application that calls GetVolumeNameForVolumeMountPoint with a user-provided lpszVolumeMountPoint. In Windows, the return value is the same whether GetVolumeNameForVolumeMountPoint is called with \\?\C:\ or C:\. I wrote a patch for GetVolumeNameForVolumeMountPointW which normalizes the input from \\?\C:\ to C:\. I do not have Bitlocker 1.X, so I am unable to test this specific scenario.
