http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59661 Bug ID: 59661 Summary: Launching Malkari results in blank white menu screens Product: Wine Version: 11.6 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: tmarplatt@gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 80749 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=80749 Console log contents Malkari (1999 game using DirectX 5) launches at a default 800x600 screen resolution, at which point the game should display a visible and navigable main menu. However visibility is denied by a blank white GUI. Most menu elements have tooltips which should appear on mouse hover and, as long as you place the mouse cursor in the appropriate coordinate, they are displayed correctly. You can also traverse menus blindly. Input fields are normally visible but there's no other graphical cues. After alt-tabbing, the Linux Mint Cinnamon 22.3 desktop environment is able to produce a thumbnail of the menu screen as it should actually look (so why can't Wine?). Similarly, when clicking a button e.g. to start a game (where the game program attempts to spawn another process) the menu screen becomes fully visible, perhaps because the menu window loses focus. Game launch and exit log attached. Example screenshots attached. Additional things I've tried without effect: launching the game using a virtual desktop, disabling window theming and disabling the window manager from managing the game window. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
