Ah, I didn't know, I'll try :) I have Heroes3_HD.exe (the HD mod), and I'll run with
wine explorer /desktop=VirtualDesktop,1770x996 Heroes3_HD.exe
(my configured res) to see. I'll let you know how things go :)
I didn't encounter it now, after a 2h marathon. So maybe fixed? I'll let you know in a week for sure. Regarding the HD mod... I'd rather not play without it :) By the way, here are the logs on the console when I had to restart the game. They are all suspiciously ending with this "could not be created with for context 0x1". Sorry, I just noticed (I ran it from console): ``` 0140:err:ole:com_get_class_object class {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} not registered 0140:err:ole:com_get_class_object no class object {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} could be created for context 0x1 ~/.wine/drive_c/GOG Games/HoMM 3 Complete ./Heroes3_HD.exe ✔ 8m 58s NORMAL 21:45:23 0424:fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (01C1FF00 00000000): stub 0428:fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (01D1FF00 00000000): stub 0058:fixme:mountmgr:query_property Faking StorageDeviceProperty data 0404:fixme:win:NtUserFlashWindowEx 0x7ffffe20e750 - semi-stub 0404:fixme:win:NtUserFlashWindowEx 0x7ffffe20d600 - semi-stub 0404:err:ole:com_get_class_object class {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} not registered 0404:err:ole:com_get_class_object no class object {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} could be created for context 0x1 ~/.wine/drive_c/GOG Games/HoMM 3 Complete ./Heroes3_HD.exe ✔ 1h 56m 44s NORMAL 23:42:08 013c:fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (01C1FF00 00000000): stub 0138:fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (01D1FF00 00000000): stub 0058:fixme:mountmgr:query_property Faking StorageDeviceProperty data 01b8:fixme:win:NtUserFlashWindowEx 0x7ffffe20e750 - semi-stub 01b8:fixme:win:NtUserFlashWindowEx 0x7ffffe20d600 - semi-stub 01b8:err:ole:com_get_class_object class {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} not registered 01b8:err:ole:com_get_class_object no class object {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} could be created for context 0x1 ~/.wine/drive_c/GOG Games/HoMM 3 Complete ./Heroes3_HD.exe ✔ 28s NORMAL 23:42:37 05d4:fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (01C1FF00 00000000): stub 05dc:fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (01D1FF00 00000000): stub 0058:fixme:mountmgr:query_property Faking StorageDeviceProperty data 05a4:fixme:win:NtUserFlashWindowEx 0x7ffffe20e750 - semi-stub 05a4:fixme:win:NtUserFlashWindowEx 0x7ffffe20d600 - semi-stub 05a4:err:ole:com_get_class_object class {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} not registered 05a4:err:ole:com_get_class_object no class object {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} could be created for context 0x1 ~/.wine/drive_c/GOG Games/HoMM 3 Complete ./Heroes3_HD.exe ✔ 31m 9s NORMAL 00:13:46 06f8:fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (01C1FF00 00000000): stub 0704:fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (01D1FF00 00000000): stub 0058:fixme:mountmgr:query_property Faking StorageDeviceProperty data 06d0:fixme:win:NtUserFlashWindowEx 0x7ffffe20e750 - semi-stub 06d0:fixme:win:NtUserFlashWindowEx 0x7ffffe20d600 - semi-stub 06d0:err:ole:com_get_class_object class {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} not registered 06d0:err:ole:com_get_class_object no class object {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} could be created for context 0x1 ~/.wine/drive_c/GOG Games/HoMM 3 Complete ./Heroes3_HD.exe ✔ 8m 31s NORMAL 00:22:18 038c:fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (01C1FF00 00000000): stub 0390:fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (01D1FF00 00000000): stub 0058:fixme:mountmgr:query_property Faking StorageDeviceProperty data 0350:fixme:win:NtUserFlashWindowEx 0x7ffffe20e750 - semi-stub 0350:fixme:win:NtUserFlashWindowEx 0x7ffffe20d600 - semi-stub 0350:err:ole:com_get_class_object class {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} not registered 0350:err:ole:com_get_class_object no class object {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} could be created for context 0x1 ``` I am suspecting that the "0350:err:ole:com_get_class_object no class object {5959df60-2911-11d1-b049-0020af30269a} could be created for context 0x1" were printed before I was forced to exit (it's possible to save & exit without mouse). I have no hard evidence, but it seems like it. I cannot see that error otherwise. But it's just a hunch. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
