Installer works on Windows so as a workaround for now it seems UE 5.4 needs to be installed via Windows to a location accessible by Wine on the Linux side. Hopefully there won't be any significant environmental/registry discrepancies by doing so. Maybe winetricks has a workaround but I'm not aware of it yet.
wine is able to launch UnrealEditor.exe installed via Windows 10 to a drive also accessible by Wine on Linux side, however it seems very unstable and continually produces Unreal Crash Reports. How did you install it and run it? Via Epic Store for Windows? Unreal Editor for Fortnite looks very similar to the full version of Unreal Engine so I opted to install it instead of Fortnite Editor since it is probably a subset of Unreal Editor and behaves similarly. For wine the Cloudflare verification screen never appears for the initial menu which works for Windows. Also clicking the Unreal icon at the top left corner flashes the menu then closes quickly and then causes Unreal Crash Report. Creating a new game launches the loading splash screen but seems to always fail with yet another Unreal Crash report without ever displaying the New Game window. Attached are the logs without any WINEDEBUG channels set. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
