Installation works fine for me with current Wine. I don't know what "importing
images" is exactly, but I tried "Transfer from specified location" to
presumably copy images from disk to some Album. It worked fine for ~300 images,
and I was able to browse that album afterwards. 

So either I'm testing something irrelevant, or we need to retest with wine 11.8
when it's out.
