installed Windows 11 via Virtualbox and run the game fine.. 

the only catch was if i had 3d acceleration enabled in settings tabing out of
fullscreen then return screen would stay black even though i had sound and
mouse.

if i disabled 3 d redenering the black screen issue disappeared but i could run
it in 2k resolution.
