I tried changing the default in Wine Mono 11.0.0, but it was causing too many
problems. I've pushed a revert, and I expect it to land in Wine Mono 11.2.0.

Unfortunately, I think the work-around will still be needed indefinitely. A
game update could fix it, but if I remember correctly, the problem looked like
it was in a third-party library which could be difficult for them to patch.
