Another way to test may be to disable things in GnuTLS like below. In the case of Total Commander the get_cipher_algid and get_mac_algid loggings are gone. (It still hangs, but that is not the topic of this bug.)

Yes, so if that doesn't change the behavior we can rule this out as the cause of this bug.
